Spring Shakespeare Season (VIC)
With spring well underway and even Melbourne starting to get a taste of sunlight, it brings with in a sheer number of shows that I’m genuinely in awe of. September is particularly packed, with this year’s massive Melbourne Fringe Festival featuring a number of Shakespeare productions. We’re spoiled for choice in both traditional performances and adaptations, with a strong focus on female focused and LGBT+ interpretations. There’s a huge variety of comedy and tragedy, including two university productions of Twelfth Night that have managed to overlap. If you’re still distrustful of the state’s ever-changing weather, there’s also star-studded screenings from the National Theatre, Almeida Theatre, Globe and Royal Shakespeare Company. A number of company’s are also auditioning for their summer seasons, so keep an eye out!
